i am a college student...

... but not just any old college student, today i received a joyous bundle of news in my inbox. it was an email from none other then the great and famous Luwana Roberts (BYUI Music Department Head Receptionist). it was my acceptance letter to the music education program at brigham young university-idaho!! basically im just totes excited about my life and what lies ahead of me as an official music major. no longer am i a "prospective music major", i am a full fledged singin', composin', and directin' music major!

now, i would like to give some shout-outs to the people who got me to where i am today.

  • Luwana Roberts (mentioned above): this lady is just the greatest, she is willing to help with anything i need... including murder*. its true. Luwana Roberts is an accomplice to the assassination of one unsuspecting collegiate singer. who will remain unknown at this time.
  • Andrew Peck (voice teacher): this man is a genius, thats all there is to it.
  • Randall (director, teacher, best friend): lets just be real here... we ALL know you have a crush on me, bro. kempton. dont worry, im very flattered.
  • Mom (the crazy lady who lives upstairs): mom, you have always wanted me to excel in music. thanks for always pushing me to do what i wanted to do most in life.
  • Dad: THANK YOU. without you i would not have my musical abilities (lets face it, you and i both know i didnt get it from mom...).    
*Luwana did not really help me murder anyone. it was just a game. and the unknown collegiate singer is doing just peachy.

I wont blame it all on teaching, but...

It took me a long while to make this post. First it took a while for me to realize I needed to write it. Then it took me a while to find the time and mental ability to write this emotional piece and then it took me a while to decide to publish it. So this is several months in the making, but here it is. This is the completely raw and unequivocal, honest and vulnerable story of me and my journey with depression. In high school and college I was always an exceptionally happy person. confession: im a druggie

JUST kidding. kind of. anyway. i have a dilemma. two of them, actually. they are: i currently cant decide if i want to go to bed or not. since the beginning of my summer, i have been working a graveyard shift and then sleeping during the day. welp, its 10:30am and im blogging while watching What Not to Wear, my totes fave tv show.
